Partnership is a vital question mark for a businessman. Partnership, if beneficial and profitable, can make the person concerned progress and expand quickly, achieve the aims and ambitions of his life and attain the heights which it is not possible for him to reach alone without partnership. Partnership, however, is seldom beneficial and profitable to each and everybody if it is helpful to some, it is very harmful to others. In the cases where partnership is harmful it obstructs the progress, retards the expansion, creates difficulties and problems, causes frauds and deceptions and spells out the financial losses. Thus it is very essential to consider thoroughly and examine closely the horoscope from the “Partnership” point of view and it is extremely imperative to locate, determine and assess the factors and considerations which indicate a beneficial partnership.

The Shukra (Venus) and the 7^th houses from the Lagna and the Chandra-lagna are the insignificators of the partnership. A thorough study of the Shukra (Venus) and the 7^th houses from the Lagna and the Chandra-lagna is a must in order to determine and assess the merits and/or demerits of partnership in a particular case. In other words to ascertain the usefulness of partnership in a specific case we are to measure the strength of the Shukra (Venus) and the 7^th houses from the Lagna and the Chandra-lagna in the horoscope concerned; we shall at first enumerate the factors and considerations which strengthen the 7^th house.

A 7^th house is deemed strong if it contains its own ruler. If a Planet attains exaltation in the 7^th house the house in question gains in strength. A strong lord of the 7^th house well placed anywhere in the horoscope upgrades the 7^th house. It is a strong 7^th house which is fully aspected by its own ruler. The 7^th house becomes strong if it is surrounded by Benefics on both sides and it becomes very strong if the Benefics surrounding it are well placed. The 7^th house gets upgraded if its lord owns also one of the Trines. The 7^th house is considered strong if it contains the lord of the 5^th or the 9^th house. The Shukra (Venus) strengthens the 7^th house by its occupation thereof; if, however, the Shukra (Venus) happens to be in debilitation therein the 7^th house gets pulled down. (The Shani (Saturn) also makes the 7^th house strong by its occupation thereof; if, however, the Shani (Saturn) happens to be in debilitation therein the 7^th house gets damaged thereby and the damage is quite serious.

The 7^th house is weak if it contains a Malefic which is not strong. A weak Malefic pulls down the 7^th house considerably by its presence therein. A Malefic which is not strong weakens the 7^th house if the Malefic in question aspects fully the 7^th house. The harm is considerable and the damage is very serious to the 7^th house if the aspecting Malefic is weak. A Malefic which happens to rule the 8^th or the 12^th house damages the 7^th house by its occupation therein or by its full aspect thereof. The damage becomes irreparable and the results are catastrophic if the Malefic occupying the 7^th house or fully aspecting the 7^th house happens to be in its debilitation or in its enemy’s house besides its being the ruler of the 8^th house or the 12^th houses. If the Malefics are weak and they surround the 7^th house the damage to the 7^th house, i.e., if they are in the 6^th and in the 8^th houses. If the Malefics are weak and they surround the 7^th house the damage to the 7^th house, the damage to the 7^th house is very serious. The presence of the Surya (Sun) and/or the Chandra (Moon) in the 7^th house decidedly make the partnership very harmful to the person concerned.

A benefic also pulls down the 7^th house by its presence therein if it is in its debilitation or in its enemy’s house. The 7^th house is weak which contains even a Benefic and the Benefic in question rules the 8^th or the 12^th house. A Benefic can cause considerable damage to the 7^th house if it occupies the 7^th house, if it is in its debilitation or in its enemy’s house therein and also if at the same time it rules the 8^th or the 12^th house. The damage to the 7^th house is considerable also if a Benefic fully aspects the 7^th house and if the Benefic in question is in its debilitation or in its enemy’s house being the ruler of the 8^th or the 12^th house.

We shall proceed next to enumerate and examine the factors and considerations which make the Shukra (Venus), the other significator of partnership, strong.
