Ascendant at Conception

1. When during its transit, the Sun comes to the 3^rd sign from that of the 1^st conception, or when it comes in transit to the 5^th or 9^th house from the Ascendant at the time of other conceptions, people are born.

2. People well versed in the science of astrology are of the opinion that the Ascendant at the time of birth, is the same a sign that constitutes the Ascendant at conception.

3. In cases where the Ascendant at the time of conception contains a benefic planet or is aspected by a benefic, the native born is long lived, with power and affluence.

4. From the Nishek Lagna the 5^th, 2^nd and the 9^th houses are aspected by benefic planets or by male planets and if there is the Navamsa of a male planet in the Ascendant at the time of Nishek, birth of a male results.

If contrary is the yoga a female is born.

5. When at the time of Nishek Lagna, there is Mercury or Saturn, in that Lagna, aspected by malefic, the birth will be only of a piece of flesh.

But it will not be so, if that Ascendant is aspected by benefic.

6. The location of the lord of the Ascendant and of the 3^rd house in the Ascendant or in the 3^rd house gives rise to the birth of twins.

7. If the lord of the Lagna is in the 10^th house and Rahu in the Lagna, the child’s feet come out of the womb first.

8. If the lord of the 8^th house and Rahu are in the Lagna the child is enveloped in serpent like umbilical cord.

9. If Rahu & Gulik are together in angle or if the lord of the 1^st & 8^th houses are together and the drekkana in the Ascendant belongs to a malefic planet, the child is enveloped in the serpent like cord in the womb.

The same result follows, if there is serpentine or egg drekkana in the Ascendant and the drekkana is with its lord without good aspect.

10. If Mars or Saturn is in any of the Lagna as Aries, Taurus, Leo, the child in the womb is enveloped in the limb denoted by the sign of the Lagna.

11. If malefic occupies the Ascendant and many malefic planet aspecting on the Lagna or if Rahu or Ketu is there, or if the Lagna contains too many malefic planets, the native is enveloped with the cord.

12. If malefic surround the Ascendant and Rahu is there or if Mars and Sun are aspected in it or Saturn is there aspected by Mars, the part indicated by the Navamsa is enveloped with the cord.

Animal Birth

If the lords of the first and the 4^th houses are located in each others sign & if either the lord of the 1^st or of the 4^th is situated with Rahu or Ketu.

The yoga indicates birth of an animal.

If the malefic planets are strong and the benefic weak & the eunuch planets i.e. Saturn and Mercury are in the cardinal house, or when these two planets aspect an Ascendant indicating an animal.

The yoga leads to the birth of animals.

When in a nativity the malefic planets are strong & occupy their own sign and the benefic are located in a sign, other than their own & where the Ascendant contains an animal sign, the wise authors take it as yoga for animal birth.

If in the Ascendant there is the drekkana of a bird (the 2^nd drekkana of Gemini, 1^st of Leo, 2^nd of Libra and first of Aquarius sign are bird drekkana) and the Ascendant is aspected by a strong planet & when the sign & the Navamsa in the Ascendant is of a movable sign, or of Mercury, the birth then is of a bird.

If the yoga mentioned above is aspected by Venus, the birth is of a cow.

If it is associated with or aspected by Saturn, the birth is of a buffalo.

If by Rahu or Ketu, the birth is of a Ram.

Similarly other animals are born when their respective signs are in the Ascendant.
