Fwd: Know more about Yogas and Astrological combinations

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

Yogas are astrological combinations i.e. either with reference to planets i.e. The Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn or by other principles. Various Yogas are form by the placement of these planets in particular houses/signs etc. Other Yogas are formed by the Lords of some houses when in association/conjunction etc. Further, some Yogas are formed by the position of planets specially in a particular order i.e. from 1st House to 6th House or from 7th House to 12th House. Most of the important yogas have been discussed in earlier issues of this Journal. Know now about more Yogas (astrological combinations) to improve your intellectual capital in the field of astrology. Please remember and do not jump to any conclusion on the basis of these yogas – the results may differ in any particular horoscope depending on the totality of the Horoscope. Some of the Yogas have been repeated for re-capitulation.

In Sanskrit astrological nomenclature Yogas mean special planetary combinations for the productions of high political power and influence, great wealth, philanthropy, asceticism, misery, debts, demoralization and corruption. OTHER YOGAS

In acquiring knowledge there are two aspects to be considered. One is scholarship, culture, literary power and imagination and the other is spiritual knowledge and the realization of Self. Literary power and scholarship are obtained from the position of Venus and Mercury and this is also controlled by Jupiter.

When Jupiter is powerful, well aspected and occupied a Vargottama (occupying the same sign in Rasi and Navamsa), the person becomes a great lecturer and orator.

When Mercury is in a Kendra, Venus in the 2nd, the Moon or Jupiter in the 3rd, it makes the native a great astrologer.

Mars strongly posited in the 2nd with Mercury and the Moon or the Moon, Mars and Mercury in a quadrant makes a person a great mathematician.

Jupiter or Venus becoming lord of the 2nd and aspected by Mars and the Sun in exaltation or moolatrikona, the person becomes a great logician and psychologist.

Jupiter and the lord of the 2nd powerful and Jupiter in conjunction with the Sun produces a man extraordinary well-versed in grammar and prose.

A man becomes a versatile genius if Jupiter and Venus are in quadrants and Mercury becomes the lord of the navamsa by the lord of the 2nd.

A person becomes a great philosopher when the lord of the 2nd, Mercury, is in deep exaltation and Jupiter is in the navamsa of Leo.

Dhana Yoga : The Moon, Jupiter, lords of the 2nd, the 4th, the 9th and the 11th houses control wealth. The favourable position of these planets in the Rasi or in the Navamsa invariably leads to great wealth. The lords of the 2nd, the 4th and the 9th should be aspected by the Moon and be disposed friendly towards it. The lord of the 2nd with the lord of the 9th occupying the 11th with the Moon and Jupiter will make the person a millionaire.
