The Nodes of the Moon Know About the Effects of Their Placement in Various Houses and Signs
1) The 'Chhaya Grahas'- the two nodes of the Moon though not owing any of the signs in the Horoscope have sufficient power to till the balance of the native's life. Rahu is capable of causing eclipses and the results would differ from Solar and Lunar Eclipse. Both Rahu and Ketu axis is known for causing 'Kala-Sarpa Yoga – a horoscope where all the planet i.e. the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn come under the grip of Rahu and Ketu. This Kala-Sarpa Yoga would also differ from house to house and every Kala-Sarpa Yoga has different result. One should not be afraid of this yoga as this combination occurs every year and many high-profile persons are also born under this combination. However, some pitfalls in life cannot be ruled out.
2) For the convenience of our readers and lover of astrology we give below the broad effects of Rahu and Ketu in difference houses and different signs. From the given horoscope one can know about the house and sign. Roman numbers indicate signs and we start with first house (Aries-sign).
3) Rahu and Ketu are aprakasha graham or lusterless planets and they give the results of the lords of the house they occupy. Results of Rahu/Ketu must be duly modified or qualified according to the affliction or otherwise of other planets.
Results of Rahu in Various houses.
I. Selfish, suspicious, head diseases, rebel, low deeds, studious, weak constitution, passionate, few children.
II. Prospers in foreign lands, generally lives away from family or creates troubles in family, harsh tongue, few children, wealthy, miser, meat eater.
III. Yogi, goes away from native place, long-lived learned.

VII. Early death of wide, loss in business wanderer, immoral, greedy.
VIII. Diseases of generative organs or other secret parts, short-tempered, harsh tongue, boastful, passionate.
IX. Goes away from native place, does pilgrimage to holy places, not very fortunate up to the age of 42 religious minded.
X. Lazy, talkative, irregular in work, religious minded, unhappiness in regard to children.
XI. Few children, not intelligent gains from foreign countries, long-lived, hard worker, earn wealth through questionable means.

Results of Ketu in various houses
I. Instable mind, timid, mischievous, cruel short-lives, idiot, good results if Ketu is in Vrischika sign (rasi) as he gives wealth and comforts.
II. Unhealthy, harsh tongue, mouth diseases, rebel.
III. Instable, suffers from windy diseases, no brothers or sisters or little happiness from them, good for wealth.
IV. Talkative, useless, lazy unemployed.
V. Harms progeny, yogi, intelligent but suspicious short-tempered, fond of pleasure, does not do good to anybody.
VI. Fear from ghosts, windy disease, fevers accidents, long-lived, wealthy, quarrelsome, litigation.
VII. Idiot, unhappy conjugal life, may cause separation amongst partners.

Please not that the above are general effects of Rahu-Ketu significations and characteristics of the planets to the natural significations and characteristics of the planets and the house (bhavas). These effects are likely to be modified in different birth charts in accordance with the rising signs i.e. Lagan and the sign in which Rahu-Ketu is posited. The lordship of houses of the planets will also have influence. For example, if masha is Lagan and guru is in the fourth house. He will be in Kataka rasi which is the exaltation sign of Guru. But if Thula is Lagan fourth house will fall in Makra rasi and Guru will then be in his sign of debilitation (neecha rasi). For Mesha (Aries) Lagan guru is lord of ninth house, an auspicious house, so his presence in fourth will give very auspicious results in regard to what Guru signifies, what the fourth will give very auspicious results in regard to what guru signifies, what the fourth house signifies and what the ninth house signifies for Thula (Libra) Lagan Guru will give bit results because not only he will be in his sign of debilitation but because he would be lord of the 3rd and 12th house – two inauspicious house. In this manner the results have to be assessed from the position of a planet in a particular house- but weight has to be given to the natural significations of each sign, house and planets.

Gemini (Mithuna):- Singer, Saintly, courageous, long lived.
Cancer (Kataka):- Liberal, sickly, poor, clever, deceitful, many enemies.
Leo (Simha):- Clever, diplomatic, noble thinker.
Virgo (Kanya):- Popular, soft-spoken, poet, writer, singer, wealthy.
Libra (Thula):- Short lived, dental troubles, good executive, gets inheritance.
Scorpio (Vrischika):- Sign of debilitation – Deceitful, loose moral, sickly, extravagant.
Sagittarius (Dhanu):- Happy in early life, may be adopted in childhood, a bad friend.
Aquarius (Kumbha):- No family, learned, friendly, sweet speech (Some take Kumbha as own sign of Rahu).
Pisces (Meena):- Religious minded, well behave, peaceful fond of arts, clever.

Rahu and Ketu are shadowy planets and generally give the results or effects of the lord of the sign in which they are placed or the planet with which they are in conjunction. They rasi-wise effects of Rahu and Ketu should be accepted as a gospel truth. The above are general effects of Rahu-Ketu in different signs. The results are modified according to their position with reference to Lagan and other influence of the planets by aspects etc.
