2. Tithis and days – All the days except Tuesday and Sunday are good. Among tithis 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15 are suitable. Bhadra and Kranti Saumya should be discarded.

3. Ascendant or Lagna – Ascendant of fixed and dual signs is 2, 5, 8, 11, 3, 6, 9, 12 or the signs identical with 3, 6, 10, 11 houses from the natal Moon or natal lagna of the owner of the house are good. The placement of the planets in the Muhurta Kundali should also be given due attention. The benefic planets should occupy 1, 7, 10, 5, 9, 2 and the 11th houses and malefic planet 8th should find their place in 3, 6, 11 houses. The 4th and 7th house should not have any planet. The ascendant should also not be in a sign which is 8th from the Moon Sign of the owner of the house.

Another consideration is regarding the transit position of the natal ascendant lord, natal nakshatra lord and Dasha lord. If the majority of them are weak at the time of entering the new house another better Muhurta should be selected. Moon in transit should also be free from any affliction at that time.

Last but not the least and often repeated `Chandra Suddhi and Tara Suddhi’ of the owner of the house should be ensured. According to some learned scholars, this should be done for all the members of the family but this is neither feasible nor required.

Astrological combinations

Vedic Astrology has indicated different conditions for individuals likely to have a “Home”.

To test these principles, a correct horoscope with proper House-divisions and significator planets are the necessities. However, subject to the same, the following Astrological rules may serve as the broad guidelines for one of the considerations to aspire for a Home.

As regards having a home, the Fourth House of the person, Lord of the Fourth House, its strength, placement, aspects, etc., the karaka, the occupant of the Fourth House, the planet deposited in the constellation of the occupant of the Fourth House and its Lord and the Sub-Lord thereof are to be considered.

It is always advisable to consult an Astrologer to find out the aforesaid aspects and favourable and unfavourable conditions for possessing a Home to avoid fruitless efforts.

As for example, a person having favourable potentialities to become an excellent musician but with Negative or weak Planetary and Astrological conditions to become a wrestler, shall only waste the energy in becoming the later one.

General astrological conditions favourable for owning a Home are indicated herein below:-

1. Lord of the fourth House placed in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 9th and 11th House, if not adversely afflicted.

2. Fourth Lord in conjunction with 2nd & 12th Lords placed in 1st, 4th, 7th, & 10th or 5th & 9th.

3. Moon & Venus in 4th House. Mars in Fourth owns “Home” but unhappy.

4. Unafflicted Jupiter in 4th.

5. Fourth Lord placed in Kendras or Trikonas, unafflicted. (1, 4, 7, 10 or 1, 5, 9 Houses).

6. Planets occupying Fourth House, or in the constellation of the occupant, having connection with Mars, the Lord of 4th House connected with Mars, will give a House during their periods/sub-periods.

Connected means, the Planet may occupy the sign, star or sub of Mars.

7. Lord of the 4th House should not be connected with Lords of 8th, 12th & Sun. The above indications are broad and general but valuable for deciding to own a Home.

Direction according to Zodiac Signs

Unsuitable directions to live according to the signs of Zodiac. Those who are indicated in the directions have no sufficient strength.
