Toilets
Now a days Western style pots are being used in toilets in which there is facility of flushing filth with water. As filth and water are being flushed out of the home, the flow of water and bend of the pipe is very important factor in it. The pipe should be made of good quality material and the drainage should be as such that the waste should go out without any hurdle. Toilet should be in South direction separated from the bathroom. Construction of toilet in North-East direction could be dangerous for the native. The toilet should be constructed in such a manner that person using it should be faced in South, West or North direction. As per our classics, while getting fresh in the morning the native should face either towards South, West, or North and in the evening it should be South facing.

Septic Tank
Septic tank should be constructed in the central-North, or central-East. Digging of septic tank in the South-West direction could create problems for the residents of that house.

Over Head Water Tank
Though North-East is dedicated to the water element but construction of over head water tank is not permitted as per the rules of Vastu. The overhead water tank should be in the West or South-West direction of the building because Lord Varun is ruler of this area and water element is governed by him. If the overhead tank is constructed in the North-East of the house, it may lead to mental tension and burden. Due to water, South-West corner becomes heavy and creates a balance of positive energies in the house/building and proves advantageous. There should be no leakage in the over head tank because dampness in the South-West corner is not good; therefore, the tank should be placed on a higher slab. One should cover the all inner portion of the tank with tiles, preferably of white colour, so as to ensure cleanliness of the tank.
The over head tank should not be constructed in the middle of the house because it is brahmsthan. Making this area heavier makes the native mentally disturbed. The overhead water tank, as far as possible, should not be made of plastic. If it is a plastic tank, it should be of blue or black colour, so that it absorbs the Sun’s rays. The Sun’s rays create positive energy when absorbed in water.
