Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac which is a masculine, movable and fiery in nature. Aries is dominated by its ruling planet Mars. It begins at the Spring Equinox, the point when the Earth enters into a period of longer days and shorter nights. Aries is a powerful symbol of new beginnings, energy, light, and creativity. People born under the sign of Aries may well turn out to be great leaders, if they can keep their aggression and tendency to dominate others in check. Aries must always be undertaking new projects, especially creative endeavours, to keep their high energy occupied. They are extroverts and tend toward impulsivity. Their challenge is to properly channel their energy. Aries personalities are independent. Being the first of the zodiac signs, they venture out and are go-getters, often leading the way. Their upbeat and magnetic personality often entices others to follow their lead because Aries personalities bring excitement into others live.

Parashara describes Aries as follows: “The complexion of Aries is blood-red. It has a prominent (big) body. It is a quadruped sign and strong during the night. It denotes courage. It resides in the East, and is related to kings. It wanders in the grassy lands and around lakes surrounded by vegetable and its predominant guna is Rajasic. It rises with its back and it is a fiery sign. Its ruler is “Mangal” (Mars) which represents strength, and is a male and movable sign. Mesha represents the head of the Kalapurusha.

The natives born under Aries sign will be the trail blazer and the pathfinder. They will be great starters of things but soon they fed up with their work and soon hand it over to someone else to finish while they search for new worlds to conquer. They love absolutely a challenge that will stir them to a motion. The monetary rewards will not be as attractive as the inner satisfaction they get from meeting and overcoming these challenges and leaving your opponents in your heel dust. That is their role in life and the reason that the Sun is exalted in the Aries sign as it is here the will is given free rein to express itself. Aries are born leaders and teachers or preachers. Their teaching ability will be felt more in the relationships they have with others. For example, they will make able people to see their own actions in a new way or a different light. Quality of coming straight to the point, rather than dilly-dallying. The planet is identified with traits like standing up for what is wrong and fighting for what is right. The native is always one of the pioneers and the initiators. He is always determined to move ahead in right, irrespective of how much and how potent are the obstacles in the way.
