Planetary Combinations Conferring Wealth

Dhana Yogas are the Yogas or the planetary combinations for wealth, prosperity and financial gains.  All those planetary combinations that give wealth and financial prosperity to the native in particular comes under the term Dhana Yoga. In any horoscope 2nd house depict wealth and financial deposits and the 11th house depict wealth and financial deposits and the 11th house depicts the income and financial gains. Beside these two houses the Trikona houses, namely 1st 5th and 9th house also represents wealth and prosperity in a horoscope, since they happen to be the Lakshmi sthana or the abode of goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Therefore any relationship or combination among the lords of these houses, namely 1st 2nd 5th 9th & 11th houses, produce combination or the Yoga for wealth and prosperity.

For an effective Dhana Yoga the houses 2nd 6th and 10th are primary and the houses 7th and 11th are secondary for Dhana Yoga considerations. The 2nd house in a horoscope signifies self generated wealth through hard work and labour, the 6th house signifies earnings through loans, and the 10th house signifies earnings through service and employment. If the 2nd house is strong then the money comes through inheritance and investment.

If the 6th house in a horoscope is stronger than 2nd and 10th house then the money comes through interest on lending, for example the moneylenders and financing companies earn through interest on lending. If the 12th house of a horoscope becomes very strong then the native borrows but never repays the loan he avails fully, there by native always remains in debt. If the 10th house is stronger than the 2nd and 6th house of a horoscope then the native can make money at all times through multiple means.

The Dhana karakas planets or significators of wealth are the Sun and Jupiter; therefore both the Jupiter and Sun should be well placed in the horoscope to become wealthy and prosperous in life. Another important rule is that the Sun’s arch rival Saturn should not be positioned in the 2nd or it should not aspect the 2nd house or gets positioned in the 2nd house. Saturn must also not aspect the 2nd lord from the Ascendant or the Moon. This is a must condition for fructification of any Dhan Yoga. The several Dhana Yogas or the wealth producing planetary combinations, in their simplest form, may occur when there takes place a mutual relationship between the following planets in a horoscope:

a) Ascendant lord is related to any of the 2nd 5th 9th or 11th house lords.

b) 2nd lord is related to any of the 5th 9th or 11th house lords.

c) 5th lord is related to any of the 9th or 11th house lords.

d) 9th lord is related to the 11th house lord.

The above mentioned planetary combinations give rise to ten different combinations for Dhana Yoga. Numerous other combinations about Dhana Yoga are also found in the ancient texts, many of them will be further discussed here. The principles for analysis of these combinations for Dhan Yogas also remains the same, besides the strength of the planets involved in the formation of the Yoga, their lordships, their placement in the specific houses of the horoscope and their placement in the specific signs of zodiac, it also depends upon the nature and strength of the planets that aspects and exert its influence on the Yoga. Aspects from the benefic planets exert positive influence on the Yoga and increases its strength, depending upon the strength of the planets, while the aspects from the malefic planets weakens the strength of the Yoga, to the extent of the strength of the aspecting malefic planets.
