Know about Predictive Techniques
The study of any horoscope is based on analyzing the Natal chart. It is important, as in any other science; to start from the basics and the basic fundamentals should always remain the base. In this book the author has tried to explain the first principles which are important while making predictions and working on them. He has also tried to explain about certain planets such as Mars, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu which are usually the dreaded planets. Also have briefly touched on the predictive techniques while talking about financial prospects, education and marriage. This book will be equally useful for amateur and research scholars.

Know about Remedies

The author has dwelt with the various remedies ranging from yoga, mantra, pooja, colour Therapy and other methods. This is a comprehensive book where the remedies have been related to various planets and their effect. The author has tried to compile the various remedies that are available in the public domain and that have been learnt from experience so that it could be beneficial to both the common man and those interested in the science of astrology.

Know about Rahu & Ketu
The Rahu and Ketu relate to the lunar nodes. The nodes are only planet which are a direct result of the relationship between the Earth, the Moon and the Sun. The aim of this book is to give a detailed analysis of the lunar nodes. The author has tried to get into the aspect of the nodes in terms of their significators, rulership, aspect and timing of the events. Also the author has dealt with the association, combination, transits and the Yogas which result due to the nodes. He has tried to comprehensively deal with all the aspects with respect to Rahu and Ketu including propitiation for them.

Rahu and Ketu are dreaded though they are two nodes of the Moon. The axis, there placement, depositors and Yogas are important and influence our actions. This book dwells into various aspects of the two planets that have been researched and analyzed. This book tells about the two Karmic Planets and both the students as well as those pursuing astrology will find it useful.

Medical Astrology

The author has investigated the various positive and negative signs in the skeletal system. In this complex study of medical astrology there is the traditional zodiacal sign rulership along with the positive and negative signs. In this study the author has tried to reduce the complexity and explain the various planets which affect our muscles respiratory, circulatory, digestive and genitor- urinary system. Along with this a very important role is played by the endocrine, organ special cell and the nervous system. In the book the author has tried to relate the various astrological signs with the physiology, health and disease. The study of Medical Astrology and correlating it with the planetary influence and aspects is a fascinating subject. Know about Transit of Planets
The study of any horoscope is accurate if the planets and Dasha at the time of birth is studied in conjunction with the Transit of Planets at the time of studying it. Transits of the outer and inner planets are important in confirming and predicting the trend depicted in a horoscope. In this book the author has in a simple way tried to explain the impact of transiting planets. This will serve as a reference for those who have understood the basics of predictive astrology. Transits have also to be understood in relation to the planet and the house in the natal chart, this has also been dealt with. The book will be a useful guide and help in sharpening predictive techniques for both beginners and amateurs.

Know About ASTROLOGY
Complete Guide to Self Learning Course in Astrology

In this book Author has tried to compile the various facets of astrological principles which are in our written domain. This book is a ready reference for those interested in the basics of Astrology as well as for those who would like to do well deeper. Know About LUMINARIES (The Sun & The Moon)
The Moon (Chandra) and the Sun (Surya) are the great mysterious planets, proclaiming the incalculable wonders of Divine Design. The Moon and The Sun happen to be the only planets which are luminous in Character. All the rest are opaque. Hence, astrology without the study of these two great planets remains incomplete. From my own long experience in the field of Astrology, I have come to believe that the eclipse on Moon and Sun is a mystic phenomenon, which creates subtle effects.

Know About Mars & Mercury
Instinct, Freewill, Karma, God and Creation are the topics which are frequently discussed. People from all walks of life lean on these words. The two planets discussed here are 'Mars' and 'Mercury' and in one of the earlier books we had taled of Jupiter and Saturn. Mars is the planet which governs strength, action and on the extreme side i.e. war while Mercury is the planet of intellect, mind and mathematics in one's behavious in all walks of life.

Bhrigu Samhita - Predictive Techniques deciphered
The attempt in this book is to delineate the principles of prediction. This is based on research over the years on the application of the principles. The principle is based on the rotation of Jupiter and it becoming the Ascendant. It stays in a sign for 12 years. The horoscope first should be analyzed with regard to the longevity of the native. It is only then we start further predictions.

Relationship: Marriage, Love & Sex
Marriage is a complex subject. The definition of marriage has changed with times. This book tries to deal with various aspects of marriage, love and interrelated subjects in a comprehensive way. The book has approached the topic of marriage in such a way that it will interest the students, the common person and those who are deeply interested in this science.

Your Profession Ups & Downs

Profession is a complex subject and an offspring to a lot of qualitative and quantitative things which result in fulfillment, influence and possessions. Profession relates to wealth, prestige and family life. It thus is not a subject which can be evaluated by one house or its lords but all houses and planets get interrelated and the synthesis in an unified manner result to predictions. In the current context with multiple jobs, carriers and globalization this aspect of life needs an in depth understanding from the basic strength of horoscope to the understanding that Raja Yogas present may not have their impact in the life span. This book is a compilation where chapters could interest to the early learners as well as those doing research work. To again emphasize that no book can cover all aspects or give formulae this is an effort to present some techniques and the permutations, combinations with your intuitive conclusion would be helpful.

Know About :Jupiter & Saturn

Death Penalty: A Threat to Right to Life

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

Death penalty is the most cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment. It violates the right to life. There is a possibility of innocent persons being awarded death sentence if he/ she becomes unable to prove his/ her innocence for reasons beyond his/ her control. It has never been observed that death penalty has been able to deter crime more effectively than other punishments. As an organization dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights, Amnesty International (AI) works for an end to executions and the abolition of death penalty world over. The progress has been dramatic. When the AI convened an International Conference on the Death Penalty in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1977, only 16 countries abolished capital punishment for all crimes. Today the report card is impressive.

78 countries and territories have abolished the death penalty for all crimes.
* 15 countries have abolished death penalty for all but exceptional crimes such as wartime crimes.
* 24 countries can be considered abolitionist in practice: they retain the death penalty in law but have not carried out any executions for the past 10 years or more and are believed to have a policy or established practice of not carrying out executions, making a total of 117 countries which have abolished the death penalty in law or practice.

78 other countries retain and use the death penalty, but the number of countries which actually execute prisoners in any one year is much smaller. Executions carried out in the following countries in 2003 Bangladesh, Belarus, Botswana, Chad, China, Congo (Democratic Republic), Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakstan, Korea (North), Mongolia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Somalia, Sudan, Taiwan, Thailand, Uganda, United States of America, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen and Zimbabwe. Death Sentences imposed in the following countries in 2003 Algeria, Armenia, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belize, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, China, Congo (Democratic Republic), Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guyana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kazakstan, Korea (South), Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Malawi, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestinian Authority, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda, Saint Lucia, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Swaziland, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad And Tobago, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen and Zambia. As per the official statistics available with the Amnesty International till 2003, at least 1,146 people were executed in 28 countries. Similarly, at least 2,756 people were sentenced to death in 63 countries. These figures include only cases known to Amnesty International; the true figures were certainly higher. International Agreements to Abolish the Death Penalty One of the most important developments in recent years has been the adoption of international treaties whereby states commit themselves to abolishing the death penalty.

The Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, has been ratified by 52 states. Eight other states have signed the Protocol, indicating their intention to become parties to it at a later date. The Protocol to the American Convention on Human Rights to Abolish the Death Penalty, has been ratified by eight states and signed by one other in the Americas. Protocol No. 6 to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (European Convention on Human Rights), has been ratified by 44 European states and signed by one other. Protocol No. 13 to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (European Convention on Human Rights), has been ratified by 24 countries and signed by 18 others. Protocol No. 6 to the European Convention on Human Rights is an agreement to abolish the death penalty in peacetime.

The Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Protocol to the American Convention on Human Rights provide for the total abolition of the death penalty but allow states wishing to do so to retain the death penalty in wartime as an exception. Protocol No. 13 to the European Convention on Human Rights provides for total abolition of death penalty in all circumstances. High Execution Countries As in previous years, majority of executions worldwide were carried out in a few countries. In 2003, 84 per cent of all known executions took place in China, Iran, the USA and Vietnam. In China, limited and incomplete records available to Amnesty International at the end of the year indicated that at least 726 people were executed, but the true figure was believed to be much higher: A senior Chinese legislator said in March 2004 that China executes "nearly 10,000" people each year.

At least 108 executions were carried out in Iran. Sixty-five people were executed in the USA. At least 64 people were executed in Vietnam. Abolition of death penalty in law or practice in over half the countries in the world have set the path for the remaining states who continue to violate the right to life. While releasing the statistics on worldwide executions carried out during 2003, Amnesty International called on the UN Commission on Human Rights to take strong action against death penalty at its recent annual session, and urged to end all executions. In a resolution adopted last year, the UN Commission on Human Rights called on countries that retain capital punishment "to establish a moratorium on executions".

The AI also reiterated its opposition to the use of the death penalty against child offenders -- people who were under 18 at the time of the offence. The recent statistics revealed that two child offenders were executed in 2003, one in China and the other in the USA. Amnesty International's report revealed that China, Iran, the USA and Vietnam accounted for 84 percent of the 1,146 known executions carried out in 28 countries in 2003. In China, limited and incomplete records available to Amnesty International indicated that at least 726 people were executed in 2003, but the true figure was believed to be much higher. The Deterrence Argument Scientific studies have consistently failed to find convincing evidence that death penalty deters crime more effectively than other punishments.

The most recent findings of a survey on the relation between death penalty and homicide rates, conducted for the United Nations in 1988 and updated in 2002, concluded: "... it is not prudent to accept the hypothesis that capital punishment deters murder to a marginally greater extent than does the threat and application of the supposedly lesser punishment of life imprisonment." (Reference: Roger Hood, The Death Penalty: A World-wide Perspective, Oxford, Clarendon Press, third edition, 2002, p. 230) Effect of Abolition of Death Penalty on Crime Rates Reviewing the evidence on the relation between changes in the use of the death penalty and homicide rates, a study conducted for the United Nations in 1988 and updated in 2002 stated: "The fact that the statistics continue to point in the same direction is persuasive evidence that countries need not fear sudden and serious changes in the curve of crime if they reduce their reliance upon the death penalty". Recent crime figures from abolitionist countries fail to show that abolition of death penalty has harmful effects.

In Canada, for example, the homicide rate per 1,00,000 population fell from a peak of 3.09 in 1975, the year before the abolition of the death penalty for murder, to 2.41 in 1980, and since then it has declined further. In 2002, 26 years after abolition, the homicide rate was 1.85 per 100,000 population, 40 per cent lower than in 1975. (Reference: Roger Hood, The Death Penalty: A World-wide Perspective, Oxford, Clarendon Press, third edition, 2002, p. 214) In conclusion, the Manavadhikar Samajik Manch, in line with the thinking and activities of the Amnesty International, does believe that death penalty should be stopped. We do feel that death penalty is the most cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment and a flagrant denial of the right to life.

The Dasa System (Planetary Periods)

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

The Dasa System or the timing of events through periodicity of planetary rotation is the greatest of the boons given by the Vedic seers. This is called the Dasa system. There are very many dasa system’s available in the parasari and the jaimini methods of reading a horoscope.

The total cycle of Dasas is 120 years apportion to each planet in the order of:

There are 27 constellations in the zodiac divided into nine groups. Every three groups are ruled by one planet:

1. Aswini, Makha and moola are ruled by Ketu.

2. Bharani Pubba and porvashad are ruled by Venus.

3. Krittika, Uttara and Uttarashada are ruled by Sun.

4. Rohini, Hasta and Sravana are ruled by Moon.

5. Mrigasira, Chitta and dhanista are ruled by Mars

6. Aridra, Svati and Satbhishak are ruled by Rahu.

7. Punarvasu, Vishakha, and poorva bhadrapada are ruled by Jupiter.

8. Pushya, anuradha and Uttara Bhadrapad are ruled by Saturn.

9. Aslesha Jyeshta and Revati are ruled by Mercury

To Moons motion the period of a dasa left over by calculating the balance portion to be moved the dasa at birth be worked out.

An example

A child as born in Aswini star in 3rd pada at 10 degree of Aries. The 7 years of Ketu = 13 degrees and 20 minutes = 800 minutes. Moon has passed 10 degree = 600 minutes. So the balance is 200 minutes to be passed. 200x 7 = 1400 / 800 = 14/8 = 1.75 ears or 1 years and 9 months.
For easy calculation ready made tables are given in the ephemeris. Each Maha Dasa (Main Period) is further divided into nine Sub Periods called Antaras and each Antara is further sub divided into nine Pratyantara also called as the sookshma or pinpointing one. The antaras and pratyantaras run in the same order as Maha Dasas i.e. Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Ketu and Venus.

A planet can be an Excellent benefic called as the Yoga karaka, or a benefic, or a neutral, or a malefic or dire malefic to an ascendant depending on its nature and ownership of Houses. Generally planets owning Quadrants and trines are benefics. Those owning Houses 3, 6, 8 and 12 are malefic. Owners of 2nd and 11th are classified according to their company.

The tabulated form of this classification if given below:

Each of the Major period is further sub divided into nine sub periods., each sub lord gives good or bad results depending on its relation with the major lord and also the ascendant lord or the ascendant lord and the sub lord is adverse but the concerned planet itself is a benefic then the results are neutral. If the relation between the Major Lord and sub lord is good and sub lord happens to be a benefic then the results are excellent. If both major and sub lords are adverse then the result will be very bad. In a bad Dasa and antara if the transit of Jupiter and Saturn are also adverse the result can be disastrous culminating in the death of native also.

Amitabh Bachan – Prediction based on Name and Nakshatra

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

Shri Amitabh Bhachan was born in Allahabad on 11.10.1942 at 16:00:00 hrs.

I am analyzing the impact of the word “Amitabh” and the constellation or Nakshatra in which he was borne. This gives a broad and fairly accurate analysis of the inherent of the person which is the core.

Numerological meaning of ‘Amitabh’ - [Gender: M-Males, FLN (First Letter Number): 1, EN (Expression Number): 9 SN (Soul Urge Number): 11/2, PN (Persona Number): 7, RN (Recurring Numbers): 1, 2]

Inspiration and intuition figure very prominently in Amitabh’s thinking process, decisions and actions. Friendly, frank, unorthodox, empathetic, charismatic, inspiring, kind, courageous and generous, he finds it difficult to limit himself to a restricted group whether in personal, social or professional life.

A philosopher, he is gently interested in understanding others’ behavior and reasons for unique ways of thinking, As most of the numeric values associated with his name are odd, it is likely that Amitabh will be driven more by the dynamic master number 11 in his soul urge rather than he quieter and passive 2. The number 11 enhances his ability to excel in creative or artistic endeavors, Gifted with the ability to communicate and project thoughts in a creative fashion, he can be instrumental in helping people bring positive change into their lives. The first letter number 1 brings self-control and the expression number 9 can make him quite impulsive. He may therefore easily away between the extreme exercising self-control and the expression number 9 can make him quite impulsive. He may therefore easily way between the extremes of immediately action on his instincts and in the other extreme exercising self-carefully and thoroughly before taking any action.

Amitabh’s partner should understand his need to reach out to more people and should be able to keep up with his ever-expanding social network. The number 1 and 2 recur twice each in Amitabh’s name heightening his imagination and thus creativity and intuition. All his numbers considered together indicate an outstanding diplomat.

Considering the date, month and year are accurate; his Moon is at 10.19’ and thus ruled by Swati Nakshatra which is ruled by Rahu.

Ancient Vedic seers associated a lot of importance to this bright star and saw it as the abode of Saraswati, the goddess of learning. Its Symbol is a ‘young plant shoot blown by the wind’ its main presiding Deity, is Vayu, the God of wind. He is one of the five main gods residing in Swarga (heavenly astral plane), who are responsible for taking care fo the five main elements of nature earth, wind, fire, water and other. “Balance” is the keyword for native born under the strong influence of this nakshatra. In Gender, it is a Female Nakshatra.
Swati represents the female aspect of its planetary ruler, Rahu. The second Pada or Quarter of this asterism 10o00’ 13o20’ Libra falls in Capricorn Navamsa and is rule by Saturn. This pada embodies the material aspect of Swati functioning. It is the most rooted among the four padas and thus to an extend lacks Swati’s inherent fragility.

This nakshatra reflects High Cliffs; Places where winds blow strongly; Agricultural land; Coral refs; Marketplace; Business Centres; Banks; Financial Institutions; Sport Complexes; Airports (both civil and military) etc. The Orientation & Disposition of this nakshatra shows that it is a level nakshatra. Filling in the heart of Libra, it has a balancing quality. It thus relays the diplomatic, pleasing side of the Rahu. It can always compromise to achieve its eventual ends. It can be seen as combined Venus and Rahu energy and relays the Venusian side of Rahu’s functioning. This makes it good in most Venusian related pursuits like music.

Inauspicious Activities under this nakshatra: Not good for travel; Fierce or warlike activities; any type of aggressive behavior is not likely to pay off in this nakshatra. Under the Planetary Ruler: The primarily materialistic energy of Rahu and Venus combined gives Swati natives success in Venusian business pursuits. In its negative aspect, natives under the heavy influence of this nakshatra can become a slave to their desires and are guided by greed and deceit to gain their ends. Rahu has a diplomatic nature; shich is very similar to that of Venus. Rahu, like Venus, is by nature a social planet and enjoys company. Rahu is supposed to give an artistic temperament in much the same way as Venus, but as always with Rahu, there is a touch of unorthodoxy involved.

Remedial: Repetition of the root mantras of this nakshatra “Om Lam”, “Om Ksham”, “Om Am” and “Om Am” 108 times when Moon transits this nakshatra and in its corresponding lunar month is sure to reduce suffering and bring enlightenment into a person’s life. There are Examples like Amitabh Bachan, many commercial king pins, Nelson Rockefeller has his Moon placed in Swati and Mark Twain, the famous author and social commentator, was born with his Ascendant, Mercury and Saturn in Swati.

Span of Life Longevity

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

1. The examination of the longevity of the baby born is the first thing done by elders and astrologers only if the native is going to live for a fairly good time, it would be worthwhile for the astrologer to predict about other aspects.

2. There are several views regarding the exact time of the birth of the baby; that it is the time of conception; it is the time when the head emerges from the womb; it is the time when it touches the ground; while others affirm that it is the time when it is completely separated from the mother's womb.

3. Till the child attains the age of 12, it is not possible to determine the native's longevity. There is possibility of the child losing life due to the sins of the parents or due to other astrological factors.

4. Some important factors about longevity were discussed in earlier issue but the throw more light, some more astrological versions are given. You are welcome to mail your views.

Short, Medium & Long Life Factors for Determination

1. Whether a person is to have long, medium, or short life can be determined by taking the following facts and their relationships in terms of the movable, fixed and common signs; (Rasis) the lords of the Ascendant and the Moon-Chart, and the lord of the Ascendant as also the lord of the 8th house; similarly by taking the pairs of the drekkaana and dwadasaamsa of the Ascendant and their relationships. If the Ascendant (Lagna) and the Moon are movable, the native will have long life.

2. If the Ascendant and the Moon Raasis are movable signs and the lords of the Ascendant and the Moon are movable the native will have Long Life.

3. If the Ascendant and the Moon are movable signs and their lords are fixed signs the native will have Medium life.

4. If the Ascendant and Moon are movable and their lords are common the native will have Short life.

5. If the Ascendant and the Moon are fixed and their lords are common the native will have Long life.

6. If the Ascendant and the Moon are fixed and their lords are movable, the native will have medium life.

7. If the Ascendant and the Moon are fixed and their lord are fixed, the native will have short life.

8. If the Ascendant and the Moon are common and their lords are fixed, the native will have Long life.

9. If the Ascendant and the Moon are common and their lords are common, the native will have Medium life.

10. If the Ascendant and the Moon are common and their lords are movable, the native will have Short life. Similarly, if the Ascendant is movable and the lords of the Ascendant and the 8th house are movable, the native will have Long life.

11. If the Ascendant is movable and the lords of Ascendant and the 8th house are fixed, the native will have Medium life.

12. If the Ascendant is movable and the lords of Ascendant and the 8th house are common, the native will have Short life.

13. If the Ascendant is fixed and the lords of Ascendant and the 8th house are common, the native will have Long Life.

14. If the Ascendant is fixed and the lords of Ascendant and the 8th house are movable, the native will have Medium life.

15. If the Ascendant is fixed and the lords of Ascendant and the 8th house are fixed, the native will have Short life.

16. If the Ascendant is common and lords of Ascendant and the 8th house are fixed, the native will have Long life.

17. If the Ascendant is common and the lords of Ascendant and the 8th house are common, the native will have Medium life.

18. If the Ascendant is common and the lords Ascendant and the 8th house are movable, the native will have Short life.

19.(i) If the lord of the Lagna and the benefics are posited in Kendras (1,4,7 and 10), the person will have long life; if in Panphara (2,5,8 and 11) medium life, and if in Aapoklima (3,6,9 and 12) short life.

(ii) The above prediction is to be reveresed if the lord of the 8th house and malefics occupy similar positions; that is, if in Kendras short life, in Panaphara medium life, and in Aapoklima long life.

20. If the lord of the house occupied by the Moon and that of the 8th house from the Moon are friendly, the person will have long-life, if the two are neutral, medium life and if they are inimical short life.

21. If the lord of the Ascendant and the lord of the 8th house being friendly, the person will have long-life, being neutral medium life, and being inimical short-life. Again if the Sun and lord of Ascendant are friendly, the person will have long-life, if neutral, medium life, and if inimical short-life.

22. If the lord of the Ascendant and the lord of the house occupied by the Moon and the lord of the rising Navaamsa and the lord of the Moon's Navaamsa are stronger than the lords of the 8th house reckoned from each, the person will have a long-life. If otherwise the reverse will be the result. That is, if the lords of the Ascendant and the Raasi occupied by the Moon and the lords of the rising Navaamsa and of the Moon's Navaamsa are weaker than the respective lords of the 8th house, the person will be short lived.

23. If the lord of the 8th house wielding greater power than the lord of the Ascendant and occupying a Kendra, and if malefics were posited in the 8th house and 12th house, the life of the person will be short or middling. He may have a full life with vicissitudes of poverty and happiness. (Another explanation given is that he may protract his life by medical treatment and propitiatory ceremonies.)

24. Death will take place for the short-lived man in the first Parivritti (cycle), for the middle-aged man in the second Parivritti, and for the long-lived man in the third Parivritti of Saturn. Parivritti means the time when Saturn reaches during his transit the particular portion of the zodiac signified by the sum total of the figures (representing the position at time of birth) of Saturn, Jupiter, the Sun and the Moon. The event has to be predicted after also satisfying that the dasaa and bhukti at the time are untoward.

25. If the lord of the Ascendant in his transit is associated with a malefic and is eclipsed, debilitated or posited in an inimical sign, or happens to occupy one of the evil signs, namely 6,8 or 12 death to the person can be predicted. The same event will happen when the lords of the rising Navaamsa, drekkaana, Lagna, or the Raasi occupied by the Moon are in a similar position.

26. If the lord of the Ascendant, the Moon and the lord of the sign occupied by the Moon possess many points of strength and are aspected by benefics, the native will be very fortunate and happy, say the wise.

27. If the lord of the Ascendant is possessed of great strength, aspected by benefics and occupies a Kendra position, the native wards off death and lives long, prosperous and graced with many virtues.

28. If Jupiter endowed with great strength i.e. with his powerful rays is posited in the Ascendant he can ward off all evils, even as a prostration to Lord Vishnu with full devotion clears all sins.

29. If the waxing Moon is posited in 5, 9 or 11 or a Kendra position with regard to the Ascendant, and in the Navaamsa of the Sun, the Moon or Jupiter, the native will be happy and blessed cleared of all evils.

30. If in a case there are no malefics in Kendra (4,7,10) and in trine (5,9) and if the lord of Ascendant and Jupiter occupy Kendra positions, the native will perform good acts, enjoy all comforts and live for 100 years without any disease.

Some important astrological principles

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

Early Death of Father

1. A person born in the first quarter of Mula, Magha or Ashvini will lose his father, but when the birth be in the last quarter of Revati, Jyeshtha or Ashlesha, there will be loss of the mother, the father and the child.

2. The child born under the same star as that of the father or under the 10th star from the father's, will cause loss of the father. Child born in the same Jamma Lagna and same Nakshatra Navamsa as that of father may cause father's death on the very day of it's birth.

3. The star in which the Moon is at the time of birth of a person is to be reckoned as the first and is called JANMARKSHA; the 10th therefrom is called KARMARKSHA; the 16th therefrom is SANGHATHIKA; the 18th therefrom is SAMUDAYA; the 19th therefrom is ADHANA; the 23rd therefrom is VINASKIKA; 25th, 26th and 27th stars are called JATI (Caste), DESA (country) and ABHISHEKA respectively.

4. If the Janmarksha and other stars mentioned above are aspected/associated by malefic planets at the birth of a person, they will cause death on the very day of birth. If aspected/associated by benefic planets, they will produce benefic effects.

Gajlkesari Yoga

5. If Moon is aspected by Jupiter exactly from 180 degree position Gajlkesari Yoga is formed, resulting good intellect, longevity and popularity and fame.
Other principles

6. According to Sarvali, Mula, Ashlesha, Vishaka and Jyeshtha are not harmful for boys born in these Nakshatras. Hence parents of the girls need no longer be afraid of accepting those boys born in these 4 Nakshatras. Horoscopes of such boys need astro-analysis with reference to married life.

7. When Lord of Lagna is not strong and well disposed, and occupy the 3rd, 5th or 7th constellation counted from the birth star the evil indications would be intensified. When lord of lagna is strong and occupies the above constellational positions, evil propensity would be lessened.

8. If a birth takes place in the Nakshatras of the brother and the parents, death takes place, without doubt of the brother and father or mother or they have to undergo death like suffering. This principles- need to be tested with reference to concerned Horoscopes.

9. Native born in the same constellation as that of parents of elder brothers will cause death of the respective person having the same star. As per Sage Vasistha, birth in father's or mother's Nakshatra causes death of one of them early. Some authorities believe that such results will take place only if the birth is in the same Nakshatra and same- 'charan'- pada.

10. Child who has a Nakshatra different from the parents will enjoy maximum love and affection from them.

11. If the Ascendant (Lagna) and Moon are placed in the same Nakshatra, as also the same pada or quarter, and Mercury and Venus or Jupiter and Venus occupies the same Nakshatra in any pada or quarter but in the same Nakshatra in which ascendant and Moon together falls, the native will have excellent character, be happy, learned, intelligent and enjoy her life with ornaments, houses, good husband and children.

12. If the Ascendant (Lagna) and Moon falls in the same Nakshatra and same quarter and Venus also placed in the same Nakshatra, the native will have many gold ornaments, fond of happiness but an irritating nature and angry tone.

13. In female Horoscopes, if Mercury and Moon occupy Lagna Nakshatra, she will be happy and blessed with good children. If Jupiter along with Moon is in the Lagna she will be very wealthy and will have sons and grand children.

Some facets of MANGAL DOSHA

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

There is different of opinion whether Mangal Dosha starts from 1st House of Second House or Both. We feel both Houses should be taken into account as Mars is the same in North and South India. Your views are welcome. Some aspects with reference to one (Rising Ascendant (Lagna) Sagittarius is given here with reference to Mars in 2nd House.

Rising Sign- Sagittarius (Dhanu) - Mars in the 2nd house- Capricorn (Makara)

Mars is exalted here and also being Dhanu's lord Jupiter's friend will cause little dosha. The native will spoil his name due to tactless speech or speech will be affected (un-thoughtful utterance). There will be tension in the job front or service matters.

Remedial Measure: Every Saturday worship Lord Hanuman. Offer flower mala on your birth star (Birth Nakshatra) every month. Wear a red coral in the ring finger.

Also Observe strict morals and ethics and keep fast on Tuesdays.

Mars in the 4th House Pisces (Meena)

Mars in Jupiter's house causes very little dosha. Yet there will be tensions in family life and there is possibility of accidents due to vehicles.

Remedial Measures: Offer sincere prayers to Lord Dakshinamoorthy every Thursday. Observe fast on Thursdays and offer alms to 4 Brahmins.

Mars in the 7th/8th house (Mithuna/Karkata) Gemini/Cancer

Mars in an inimical sign may give delayed marriage to the one he loves or the marriage begins in love but sours in due course due to incompatibility on various issues. Nonetheless, the marriage brings success to both partners too. Cancer (Kataka) is the house of debilitation for Mars and though Mars is said to cause Mangal dosha, this position is not all desirable. Mars here will affect longevity and health. But this position of Mars may give much wealth too.

Remedial Measures: The Partner should wear a red coral in ring finger. Fast on Wednesdays and offer prayers to Lord Balaji of Tirupati. Give offerings to Him regularly. Keep some amount set aside for remedial measures. Perform abhishek to Lord Shiva.

Mars in the 12th HOUSE (Vrischika) Scorpio

Here Mars will do little harm as he is the lord of Vrischika own sign. Yet this will cause family tensions and squabbles, There will be enemies and eye troubles too. However this position helps one to advance in yogic practices.

Remedial Measures: Wearing a white coral and use of red cloth is beneficial. Recite the Mantra "Om Hreem Kreem Hreem Subramanya Namaha" 1008 times daily and fasting on Tuesdays.

Rudraksha – The beneficial remedy

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

Now we have a look at the horoscope of the father of Nation who was born in Libra lagna but with Mars,Mercury and Venus in lagna hemmed by Saturn and the sun.Yhe Jupiter, a natural benefic but is considered inauspicious for Libra Lagna persons though in each horoscope the position of Jupiter make the difference. In this case Jupiter was in 10th form the moon. Jupiter-a planet of wisdom and religion was considerably responsible for giving spirituality and self-serching of soul. Rhu and sun don’t give mental peace though Mercury in the Lagna gives keenness of mind. It is known that the Moon is controller of Mind-rateher it would be apt to say that the moon for all is the controller of mind.further, it is stated that presence of Saturn or his aspect on 10th house either from lagna or from the Moon has great bearing on the influence wields amongst the followers. The natives contributions in the fields of politics, religion matters, social as well as literary field, an well known. A Unique and Rare Conjunction of Saturn and Ketu

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

1. It may be recalled that Saturn entered Leo on 16th July,2007 and ketu was already there in Leo. In the course of transit, many planets joined Saturn in Leo but this article is devoted to omly results of Saturn-Ketu conjunction. Saturn on its entry in Leo was at 00.00 degree whereas ketu was 13.46 degrees – it just crssed transit of megha-its own Nakshtra.

2. It may be metioned that Saturn and Ketu (Ketu was already in Leo when Saturn entered Leo) will continue in Leo when Ketu gets to cancer but Saturn will continue in Leo(including Retrograde motion) upto 9th September, 2009 Including another retrograte motion in 2009.

3. Saturn and Ketu remained together for a long time but it is only on 23rd October, 2007 that it can be said that Saturn nad Ketu were in conjunction.the degree of both these planets speak of the conjunction though some astrologers take the full month of October,2007 as of Saturn-Ketu conjunction. The above Horoscope is prepared as per planetary position on 23rd October , 2007.

4. All Mundane affairs specially of the Government and Government officials are likely to suffer in various ways for the period noted above and specially for three days i.e. 22nd ,23rd and 24th oct., 2007.

5. Rebellion type affairs including steps to over-throw the government are indicated- the sun is debilated and is aspected by Saturn who is in conjunction with Saturn.Saturn and mercury in the 2nd house are aspected by Rahu.

6. None of the Male fics receives the beneficial aspect of Jupiter – hence the person in charge of Government affairs may not give the needed advice in view of themalefic influence in the total horoscope.

7. With the above Horoscope,Vimshotra Dasha is of Jupiter-Saturn-Saturn upto 30.09.2007 – thus this periodcan bring all sorts of troubles, miseries eruption of diseases, loss of crops etc.

8. It is known to all that Ketu is akin to Mars – i.e. Ketu is another Mars. Ketu in 12th House is capable of giving bad results including assasianations of VIPs, harm to democratic institutions, heavy expenditure and huge losses to the country, treachery in the hands of own trusted persons i.e. betrayal by some of the trusted Government employees and also some persons holding the post of Ministers.

Accidents and sudden mishaps resulting in injuries and deaths can’t be ruled out.

Diseases including brain fever and diseases concerning the brain may crop up apart from/diseases cancer, plague, skin eruptions, leprosy etc. nirated.

Under other Mundane affairs concerning the countries inclide rebellions, revolutions, explosions, sudden events concerning the rulers of the country- such results can happen even after the conjunction.

Democratic institutions may suffer and some leaders may try to become dictators or some policies may be announced which can termed as of a disctator.

Strikes/bandhs etc. by labour class specially agricultural labour indicated- thus the government must take steps to please the farmers specially with regard to promised procurement prices of food-grains.
